Generally, you will see deep-cycle batteries in boats, golf carts, RVs, and other vehicles. Some are even used to maintain solar power systems. Golf carts use them for general transportation. On boats, they’re used to power audio systems, electricity for lights and cooking, sonar for fishing, and other accessories for a nice day out on the water. Types Of Deep Cycle Batteries

They do require maintenance, however; owners need to fill the top of flooded lead batteries with water to consistently keep the internal electrolyte balanced. Prepare to pull your weight carrying them, since they are heavy, and some run the risk of overcharging.
Lithium-Ion
Lithium-ion batteries are one of the newest technological developments for deep cycle discharges. They are also used in tablets, solar panels, cell phones, and electric cars. They require lower maintenance compared to other types of deep cycle batteries.
If you can ignore the high startup cost, lithium ions are a worthwhile investment. One drawback is that they do cost a lot, which is not necessarily good for vehicle owners on a budget. If you get these for your golf cart or boat, then prepare to use them for a long time.
Absorbent Glass Matt Batteries
AGM batteries use a fiberglass matt to handle the flow of electrolytes efficiently. They are sealed and known for their robust qualities. Like lithium batteries, they require no maintenance and charge quickly.
One drawback is that AGM batteries are sensitive to overcharging, which means owners need to make sure they unplug when the power is fully restored. Their charging capacity goes down over time, and some are too expensive for your machines.
